About Suzanne Maynard, LMFT

I’m Suzanne Maynard, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving adult women and couples through telehealth in Tennessee (TN License No. 2769) and Nevada (NV License No. 2659).

I work with women navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and relationship pain. Many of the women I see have spent years reading the room, keeping the peace, or setting aside their own needs to maintain safety or connection.

These patterns often developed for understandable reasons. They may have helped you cope with difficult experiences or relationships in the past. Over time, however, they can contribute to feeling stuck, emotionally overwhelmed, or caught in painful relationship cycles. In therapy, we look at how these patterns developed, what they may have protected, and how they are affecting your life today.

My Training and Approach

I draw from several therapeutic approaches so that our work can be tailored to your specific needs and goals:

DBT-Informed Therapy

I have completed the DBT Certification course through PESI. I use DBT skills and principles to support emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and more intentional responses during difficult moments.

EMDR

I have completed EMDR Basic Training. EMDR helps process traumatic or painful experiences that continue to affect how you feel, respond, and experience safety in the present.

Gottman Method Couples Therapy

I have completed Level 3 training in the Gottman Method. In couples therapy, I help partners understand the patterns that keep them feeling disconnected, improve communication, repair hurt, and create more room for trust and connection.

Faith Sensitive Care

Faith and spirituality can be included in therapy when you request it and when it is meaningful to your healing. My role is not to teach faith, interpret the Bible, or direct you toward a particular belief system. Instead, I offer culturally responsive care that respects your beliefs, values, and worldview. If you choose, we can explore how your faith or spirituality relates to your goals, relationships, decisions, and emotional well being. This work remains client-led and is never assumed, imposed, or used in place of clinical treatment.

What You Can Expect

The name Revelation Mental Health reflects what I believe healing often is: a new way of seeing yourself, your patterns, your relationships, and your life. It is about recognizing what no longer serves you, coming back into alignment with who you are, and living with more confidence, clarity, and congruence.

I know from both professional and personal experience that starting therapy can feel intimidating. It can feel strange to share your inner world with someone new. But therapy can also become a place where you are deeply known, where you learn to respond instead of react, and where you begin to feel more in control of yourself and your choices. Healing is not about becoming someone completely different. It is about learning to hear yourself differently, trust yourself more fully, and live in a way that feels honest, grounded, and aligned.
